"People lapping up a gooner telling them about supporting West Ham? FMOB"

Yet these are the Berks that tell is that we're losing out soul. The kind of people who consider nick hornby and Alan Davies to be football fans.

Non West Ham fan in the ground sitting with the West Ham fans?

Penners must have sold him the ticket...

I'd say it's less to do with the emirates and far more to do with the people that associate themselves with arsenal these days.

Club of choice for know nothing foreign city boys.

he wouldn't have had written the same article if he had gone last year.

Its all about the supporters.

We can make the new stadium have a good atmosphere if we want to.

Re: Great read from a Gooner (West Ham v Liverpool)
Your average WH fan is just different to you average Arsenal fan and the atmosphere at the two grounds reflects that... UP had become a quiet ground over the last few years but that was down to the entertainment served up by you know who.

(More) normal service has been resumed this season and the atmosphere has improved... as someone said earlier, there will be times when the OS is rocking and others when it isn 't, but having been there a couple of times now I have no doubt that a very acceptable level of atmosphere will be achieved and that the Gooner in question will remain envious when he visits the new place.

Re: Great read from a Gooner (West Ham v Liverpool)
Arsenal had what some might call the perfect ground for football and they still struggled to generate an atmosphere. No surprise that the same happened when they moved.

We are not Arsenal. People worried about our ability to generate noise in another stadium either don't know us, have little confidence in us or have an agenda in the first place.

Why people are lapping up an Arsenal daytripper's patronising words about us as if they are some sort of football sage is just bizarre.

Re: Great read from a Gooner (West Ham v Liverpool)
As West Ham fans we have nothing recent to celebrate so there is always a tint to our spectacles and a yearning for Brooking and Devonshire to be reincarnated.

I would rather not watch players suffer every tackle like they've been hacked at with a machete then have the entire squad bundle round the ref waving imaginary cards and behave like histrionic queens when the decision doesn't go there way.

I'd rather a scuffle turn into a full on punch up that's settled there and then rather than the 'hold me back lads' we see now where the two players then chase each other round the pitch snidely kicking each other for the rest of the game till one goes down clutching his exfoliated face.

I don't want to see the look to the heavens, praise God and other deity shit, the 'it's our time now' shit constantly extolled.

Footballers now are pampered man children advised how to do everything from the comments they make online to how to tie their laces fashionably. Most of them can't string a sentence together and most of them are frankly cunts. There are very few characters now, just balls of illiterate clay moulded by their current clubs PR machine and their agent.

I'd rather they just acted like men rather than celebrity obsessed benders.

I think modern football is shit!

Re: Great read from a Gooner (West Ham v Liverpool)
So, modern football has evolved and is different rather than rubbish?

It's a sad disease, looking at the past through rose tinted glasses.

'everything was better in my day'.....

Re: Great read from a Gooner (West Ham v Liverpool)
Footballers now more interested in how they come across on social media than whether their team wins or loses. Modern football is shit!
